This pre-application form seeks to collect information so that we can advise you:

  • On the eligibility of your organisation and your investment proposal.
  • Whether your investment proposal meets objectives of the scheme.
  • Whether to proceed to a full application and what you have to do to complete a full application for KMBF support.

The information that you are asked to provide in this pre-application is also necessary to meet our reporting requirements of our funders from the original Regional Development Fund (the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy) and Kent County Council. All data reported is anonymised and held in confidence.


We will acknowledge receipt of your pre-application within 2 working days. Please note we cannot process incomplete pre-applications so please ensure you answer all sections.


If the number of pre-applications exceeds the estimated amount of funds available to cover your proposal, you will be informed that your application has been put on hold.


Finally, applicants can only submit one application for the KMBF scheme at any one time. In order to access the on-line pre-application form you must be able to answer yes to the next questions below:

You must be able to meet the following criteria in order to submit a pre-application to the scheme

Does your proposal focus exclusively on costs that relate to Recovery or Liquidity (Working Capital, Gap Funding) or Capital Investment (Tangible or Intangible Assets)?*
Can you confirm your business has suffered business disruption resulting from the COVID-19 outbreak e.g. lost trade?
Is your application for a loan in excess of £50,000 and less than £100,000?
Are you a sole trader, partnership or limited company, not-for-profit or other?
Does your organisation employ fewer than 250 employees?
Is your business or business group turnover less than £45 million per annum?
Can you confirm that your business is located or is seeking to locate within the KMBF eligible area?
Has your business been trading for a minimum of 3 years before 31 December 2019?
Can you confirm that your business does not currently operate within the ineligible sectors as identified in Section 6 of the scheme guidance?

Can you confirm your business is not subject to collections or collective insolvency proceedings?
